鈥淚t felt like the land of opportunity. I restarted the debate team, joined the student newspaper, played on the golf team, and helped organize academic speaker events. Doors kept opening, and I just said yes.鈥�听
Key mentors along the way included Dr. Tom St. Antoine, professor of communication and director of 海角在线鈥檚 Supper Honors Program, with whom Templeton developed a close friendship through their shared involvement in debate, and Dr. Richard Gamble, a brilliant and engaging history professor who cultivated Templeton’s interest in history.听

Though he initially came to 海角在线 with the intention of becoming a lawyer and even applied to law schools after graduation, Templeton pivoted when he experienced the appeal of the accounting field.听听
鈥淚 didn鈥檛 want to take on that much debt, and I was enjoying what I was doing in public accounting and had developed a confidence that I was good at it, too,鈥� he shared. 鈥淭he attorneys I was working with didn鈥檛 seem to be having any more fun than I was having, so I thought, 鈥榃hy don鈥檛 I just continue on and pursue my CPA?鈥�鈥澨�听
Templeton now serves as CEO and managing partner of Templeton Advisors, one of South Florida鈥檚 leading accounting firms. The firm, which was founded in 1990, is a longtime partner of 海角在线, mentoring aspiring accountants and recruiting top talent for internships and employment opportunities after graduation.听听

Today, Templeton gives back to 海角在线 in a significant way. His generous support led to the naming of the Templeton Classroom in the Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker Business Hall, scheduled to be open in spring 2026. The space is intended to inspire and equip future generations of accountants and business leaders.听听
