Cleveland Clinic Florida and 海角在线 have signed a letter of intent to begin discussions on the development of a health sciences center on the university鈥檚 campus in West Palm Beach.
The new facility would combine educational opportunities and resources for 海角在线 students and faculty, with convenient access to care for Cleveland Clinic Florida patients.
鈥淓ducating and training the next generation of healthcare providers has been part of Cleveland Clinic鈥檚 mission since our inception 100 years ago,鈥� said , M.D., Ph.D., CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic Florida. 鈥淲orking together with 海角在线 would be an opportunity to fulfill our mission of supporting education in tandem with providing world-class care for the patients we serve.鈥�
Plans for the facility include basic and clinical science classrooms, as well as clinical simulation laboratories for 海角在线 students. The facility would also provide access to patient care, including offices and procedural areas for Cleveland Clinic Florida primary care doctors and physician specialists, diagnostic imaging and laboratories, chemotherapy, sports medicine, physical therapy and a clinic for 海角在线 students.
鈥淲e believe this strategic alliance will enhance 海角在线鈥檚 ability to train outstanding and caring healthcare providers, much needed in today鈥檚 world, as well as increasing patient access to high-quality healthcare services,鈥� said Dr. Debra A. Schwinn, 海角在线鈥檚 president who is also a medical doctor and scientist. 鈥淚t will offer students in our nursing, pharmacy and other schools exceptional experiences that will prepare them for their careers in healthcare.鈥�
Planning for the potential new facility will begin soon with representatives from 海角在线 and Cleveland Clinic Florida.
