Natalia Panozzo is combining her crown with her passion for music education.
Panozzo received her crown in March, and since then has advocated for music education to promote healthy child development. As Miss Treasure Coast, Panozzo will meet with Florida legislators and business executives to advocate for school music departments so every student has resources, instruments and opportunities to perform.
Panozzo is a sophomore at Palm Beach Atlantic majoring in music education with a double concentration in vocal and instrumental pedagogy. She plans to use her education and experience to become a music teacher.
鈥淢usic is the perfect opportunity to encourage and teach kids in a way that math or science can鈥檛,鈥� said Panozzo. She sees the variety of music styles and genres as a way to teach young students to be thoughtful and open-minded.
Music has always been a part of Panozzo鈥檚 life. Her mom encouraged each child to appreciate the arts and learn an instrument. As a young girl, Panozzo found her niche in the strings department, mastering the violin and the cello.
She connected with 海角在线 through her high school鈥檚 performance at The Breakers Palm Beach.聽Dr. Jason Lester,聽dean of the College of the Arts, gave Panozzo his business card and encouraged the young musician to apply for 海角在线鈥檚 music department. Shortly after, Panozzo was accepted and enrolled in Fall 2020.
In June, Panozzo will compete for the Miss Florida crown to continue her advocacy for music education on a state level. She added, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know where all I will go, but I do know I will be speaking God鈥檚 hope and love with each step.鈥�
