Dr. Carl Miller

The听associate听provost for听academic听success听will serve as a key leader to elevate our academic support services at听海角在线 (海角在线)听by developing and overseeing programs that enhance the academic experience, encourage scholarly activities, and support initiatives that bridge academic learning with co-curricular experiences. Included in this role is oversight of 海角在线鈥檚 student-facing academic areas,听including the Rinker Center for Experiential Learning, the Frederick M. Supper Honors Program, the Office of Academic and Accessibility Resources, and the Warren Library.

After successfully serving as听acting听dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Dr. Carl Miller has been selected as 海角在线鈥檚听associate听provost for听academic听success.

鈥淚 am excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve 海角在线 in advancing student academic engagement, service, and achievement,鈥 said Dr. Miller.听鈥満=窃谙 is on the rise as one of the premier institutions of Christian higher education in America, and I look forward to further realizing the tremendous potential of this school and its students.鈥

Dr. Miller received his听bachelor鈥檚听degree听from Wittenberg University, his听master鈥檚 degree听from The Ohio State University, and his听doctorate听from the University of Florida. He has served as a faculty member in the Department of English since听fall 2013 and as听department听chair since 2024. Through his听expertise听and guidance as听fellow听for听university听scholarship and听development, twenty 海角在线 students have been selected as Fulbright听award recipients.听

鈥淲e have been searching for a student-focused leader to develop the systems of support for academic flourishing across the university,鈥 said听Dr. Stephen Johnson,听provost听and听chief听academic听officer.听鈥淒r. Miller brings a robust heart for our students, a听systems mindset, and听personal touch听to elevate our work to strengthen the student academic journey.鈥
