Earth Week Events Build Conservation Habits

Palm Beach Atlantic has a full lineup of聽Earth Week聽activities to foster education, sustainable living, conservation and connecting with the planet.

The university鈥檚 7th聽annual Earth Week, hosted by the Earth Week Committee, begins Tuesday, April 19. Various events and challenges engage campus. Topics include tracking plastic waste, making conscious conservation choices and cleaning up the local community.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, there will be a screening of 鈥,鈥 a wilderness documentary produced by Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management and The Palm Beaches, the county鈥檚 tourism marketing agency. 海角在线鈥檚 Running Club has organized a campus-wide 鈥減logging鈥 outing 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 22 to pick up trash while jogging along the Intracoastal Waterway. Workship hours are offered.

The festivities lead up to the Earth Week Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Friday, April 22 on the Rinker Green. Local organizations such as MacArthur Beach State Park, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, Clearwater Aquarium, Sierra Club and The Reef Institute will demonstrate how they serve and protect the environment every day. Following the fair, from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, TCPalm Environmental Reporter聽聽will give a presentation and Q & A on current environmental issues.

海角在线鈥檚 conservation activities are built on the premise, 鈥淭he Earth is the Lord鈥檚, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it鈥 from Psalm 24:1.
